Fatty Tumor ? While checking my 3 yr old Yorkie for fleas I noticed a very soft "lump " or raised spot on his groin on the right side. Again it is very soft, about 1 inch long by half inch wide. Seems to be causing him no pain. You can push it in like, inside feels very soft too. Any ideas would be appreciated . I am new to the site . |
Took him to my vet today. Just a fatty deposit and some mild inflammation. |
That's good news. Some of my older dogs have been very prone to these. They're harmless but wise to get any new lump checked out. Glad it was nothing to worry about. |
It was wise to take him to the vet so the doc could decide. For us... my foster Buster (RIP) had a giant fatty tumor that was removed. But, he also ended up getting lymphoma and I thought those lumps felt something like a small fatty tumor. Glad your little one is okay and the vet had a look at him. |
Hi Ray- I don't know if you get on here often - but I have the same exact issue on my dog same exact place as well. Did they recommend you remove it? I'm taking my 10 year old Yorkie- poo shiver to the vet tomorrow. Thanks for the insight. |
Our Airedale has several Fatty Lypomas .. Our vet told just to watch them for signs of redness , getting hard or getting so big that they cause discomfort . In that case they can be removed.. |
My Jewels has one the next time she goes under for a dental my vet is going to remove it so it doesnt get nicked during grooming |
