Why can't we buy Acana for puppies in US? For all of you who feed Acana are your fur babies puppies? I too have one who does not want the wellness anymore.... I need to find something else quick to get her used to it before her surgery in 2 weeks....yikes! |
I used Acana at one time. It was labeled as "ALS," or "all life stages." It is perfectly OK to feed that to a puppy, adult, or senior. |
Something about the inclusion of milk thistle in the formulas? That was the last thing I read. Milk thistle is allowed as a supplement in the US but not as a food ingredient. I dunno. But they do sell Chicken & Burbank Potato in the US, and it's similar to the puppy food, and is all life stages, would be fine for a puppy. All the grain-frees are labeled all life stages as well but I prefer the calcium/phos levels in the Chicken formula (even though that's more important for large/giant breeds than our small dogs). That's the only food available in the US from the Classics line, and then we also have Singles line and all the GFs. |
Ohhhhh Thanks Britster.....Trying to make sence of all this dog food! Now how do ya figure out which is tiny enough for your baby! Most don't even describe it. I know Fromm is too big. :( |

Acana is def bigger than Fromm. I wouldn't worry about it though, I know lots of little dogs on bigger kibble and they do fine. I am sure if you gave them a big piece of chicken that size they'd have no trouble chowing down on it :p I did start a thread before w/ kibble pics.. lemme see if I can find it... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ce-thread.html |
I haven't found Fromm to be too big, mainly because they are fairly flat. Cali (4.5 pounds) is wolfing it down as easily as Scarlett (15 pounds). |
That kibble size thread was hilarious! What kind won? Thanks everyone for your input... I went to the pet boutique that sells Fromm to get a different sample and baby Zoey here te DUCK kibble right out my hand. But turned her nose up at the fish. I'm also trying Zignature , haven't seen that on here , anyone hear of it? Grain free with various proteins for rotation..... I also picked up some freeze dried Bravo trail mix , she loves that...grain free..made in U. S......and whaaaat? Smiling Dog freeze dried duck with oranges! Lol if she doesn't like that I don't know what to do! |
Meant to say ATE her duck kibble.....sheesh |
I feed the Fromm's Whitefish and potatoe and the kibble is small and flat. It has worked well for my Kinder. |
