Wellness Vs. Blue Buffalo Hey guys, thinking to switch Bunny science diet to Wellness or Blue Buffalo which is best? What do you guys feed your dog? |
I would pick out of those 2 Wellness. Not a fan of BB. I feed Peanut Canine Caviar and he has been doing fabulous! He has seasonal allergies as well as food intolerants, he has been super healthy since I started him on CC and he LOVES his food. |

I have fed Huey bb for a year now. He has done really well on the freedom grain free in the pink bag. We tried the bb wilderness gain free and he had episodes of vomiting. Same with the bb basics for sensitive stomachs-vomiting at times. No vomiting at all on Freedom, small breed, so there we stay for now, despite some recent, less than stellar reviews of bb. I am considering changing him to something else, but since we have had some issues, I'm kind of stuck at "if it isn't broken, don't fix it". His 1st 3 1/2 years of life, he was on Purina One and vomited weekly, but then I found Yorkie Talk and realized I was probably poisoning my dog and that is when I changed to bb. I haven't ever tried any other brands. Good luck with your decision. |
Posted this on your other thread as well: From Wellness, I've only fed the Core varieties (both Ocean and Reduced Fat). The Ocean one gave Teddy a really nice, shiny coat and we were able to get Toki's weight down with the Reduced Fat. Teddy is currently eating Blue Buffalo Wilderness and all of the dogs in my family (3 yorkies and a beagle) have all done well on different BB formulas. Both Wellness and BB have some good options and we've had good results with both brands. |
I think you should try the Hills ideal balance its a very trust worthy company and great ingredients. One thing that is very important to do is always research a company not just look at ingredients. |

It's one I'll keep in my rotation. I think both brands are good and a lot of times, the thing that determines which one I get is if I have a coupon or if one of them on sale somewhere :) |

dog I had my boys on Blue Buffalo. Their stools were very soft and squishy. I called my old poodle breeder who has show dogs and her husband, Dr. Brad Patterson is a vet. They live in Camarillo, Calif. He is excellent. Anyway, she feeds her dogs Wellness. So I have my boys on the Wellness Super 5mix. They love it. I was mixing the 90% chicken in it but it was too soft so I switched over to the other Wellness chicken. I read a lot of complaints about Buffalo on line which scared me. I personally think Wellness is a really good food. |

dog My yorkies seem doing fine on the wellness dog food. I give them the Super 5 mix weight one. The wet food is still quite soft. I only mix in a little bit because Spud likes that taste. He is particular. If anyone feeds Kirkland please read the reviews and complaints on that food and Do Not Feed. Not good reviews. I always research before I give my dogs anything. They are too precious and part of the family! |
Just go to dog food advisor and research yourself. Not trying to be rude but it is a great site to see what is out there and what will be a good fit for your dog. . |
I wouldn't count on the Dog Food Advisor. You can find a lot of information on YT. Lots of members have tried many different foods. From there you can do your own research and make the choice based on your feelings towards the company and how your pet reacts to that food. |

But it is a good resource in understanding what is in the dog food. Especially for new dog owners like me. It is not the only resource I use but it a good starter if you are shopping around for specific type of dog food. Especially trying to understand what exactly all words mean. Everybody has their own methods. Just trying to be helpful. 😊 |
