Puppy thinks Fidget has maybe Impetigo but im not sure Hi, I have a 4 month old yorkie poo the last 3 weeks he has been biting his front paws lots and scratching his head/ears/ belly lots. He has a slight rash on his belly and is dry with a few red blotchy spots. His paws and everywhere else are not red. He has been checked by the vets twice and he hasnt got fleas. I treat him reguarly for fleas and worms. The vet gave him some anti-biotic tablets that I have got to give him for a week as well as shampoo that I have been washing him in twice a week. The vet thinks it may be impetigo but im not sure. Has anyone else had anything similar with their puppy? im hoping this isnt a long term problem as the vet said he may have to have blood tests and steriods etc which I really hope he doesnt have to have. |
What are you feeding him? Peanut had the same symptoms. He would get hot spots, red splotches, red ears, licking paws, chewed all his leg hair off and etc. I had to give him a Benadryl as well as cortisone cream daily. We went through so many foods and the only thing that fixed him was switching to Canine Caviar. I know it sounds crazy.. how can a kibble fix those symptoms, but it’s true. It took about 2 months for us to stop all medicines. In our worst allergy months he has no signs. I would highly recommend Canine Caviar to any dog that has food allergies. One of the medicines that really helped Peanut was the Neo Poly Dex. I would put this on his hot spots and red splotches and it would really help clear it up. Neo-Poly-Dex Ophthalmic |

Yup, waiting, waiting, waiting...loll. Teresa told me awhile back that they were delayed in producing Buffalo bc people were eating it (Buffalo Burgers) & it was so popular bc of the lean low fat meat! |

Yeah my dog was having some itching problems and we recently switched to ziwipeak, no itching today :) Oh and you might want to try cleaning your dogs paws and tummy after walks or outside time because some dogs can have grass allergies... |
Potatoes and corn are actually starches, even though they're vegetables. Allie is allergic to grains and will chew at her paws if she eats anything with grain in it. |
