Now she doesn't need it and the fur is shorter so you can quickly run a nice metal grooming comb through her and get her used to it. If you wait until she really needs it you will find she is really not going to accept it and will fight you or any groomer that tries to work on her coat. (That is one of the main reasons for injuries at the groomer's)
Same with baths. If they don't get them very often they really freak out when you do it. The more you do something with them the more familiar they will become and more accepting.
I can't say Gracie loves it but she know she is going to get groomed at least once a day and lets me do it. She knows she gets a bath every week and at least accepts it:rolleyes: Treats at the end of each session really helps with getting the attitude to change.:) |
