Itching? Can you guys help me? My dog has been itching like crazy. He doesn't have any fleas or anything but he just keeps scratching. He's a very picky eater and he's eating Half ProPlan Savor for puppies and half Lotus brand kibble and he's kind of eating it. I don't know if that can be the reason of why he's itching? What could be causing his itch? Vet hasn't said anything about the itch though. I'm scared that they'll just charge me for stuff that I don't even need. :\ :thumbdown Any help would be appreciated. :D |
My poor little Tibbe starts itching only a few minutes after eating Royal Canin and was started on Hill's I/D Hepatic back in April but it made him itch so I never gave him a full meal of it, keeping the Hepatic to half of his diet due to the almost immediate scratching that started w/in minutes of a meal. Even now if I get a little too much of the hepatic diet in his food, he'll scratch a lot during the day. He's never had fleas and has no skin conditions and only scratches after food he's allergic to. You'll have to try your baby out on various foods and try to find what he can eat w/out the reaction. |
I thought that was the case too. I hate that dogs cnnot even talk so they can't tell me what makes them itch. :\ I will try to buy a few other dry food then if that's what I have to do. |
Two of my pups have fall allergies, they itch and dig so much that they would end up tearing every bit of hair off of their back legs and rumps. to the point where they would look like chicken legs. At one point they had a secondary infection because all of the digging and tearing at themselves. My gal Brandi is on steroids for a different issue which has totally stopped the reaction from the allergies. She has not itched one time this season. On the other hand Quincy is at it again, poor baby. So I put in a call to my vet and they put him on steroids also. We just started them today and hoping they give him some comfort as well. He will only need to be on them until winter hits. So it could be that your pup has fall/dry weather allergies also. You may want to my an appointment and ask you vet. |

Aww., I hope your Quincy would feel better. Toby isn't that bad though. He just keeps on licking and scratching. I'll try to call my vet soon. |
