Teeth! Abbi is 5 months old. I just noticed a second row of teeth coming in right in front of her upper teeth - like a shark has. Does this mean the baby teeth will need to be extracted or will they come out on their own? |
That is fairly common with Yorkies. Check with your vet to see what needs to be done. My first Yorkie had two rows of teeth and the baby teeth needed to be extracted. |
It's common to extract the baby teeth when she gets spayed. |

Every Yorkie I have ever owned had to have some baby teeth extracted. I've had 6 over the years. Some needed more than others. One was a 2 year old when I rescued her and she had 8 baby teeth that had to be removed. |
Oreo is just turned 5 months and is going to the Vet today for his Pre-op prior to getting neutered. They will also be checking his teeth to see if any need extracting so they can do both at the same time. Any recommended questions I can ask the vet during this process? I really can't tell if he has lost any of his baby teeth so I'm blind in this process. TJ |
Our girl is now 7 months and went through the same thing at about 5 months. She lost all of the baby teeth on her own, none had to be extracted. Kept lookiing, but we never found any of the baby teeth! |
morgan had the same thing// he had his baby teeth extracted when he was neutered |
Molly had 5 teeth removed when she was spayed. She just had another baby tooth removed this week and she is over a year old. It just popped through a couple of months ago. At least vet said it was another baby tooth. |
Callie had to have 4 or 5 removed when she got spayed. |
