Small corn like growth over eye? Just had my Yorkie clipped and when he came back was shocked what I had missed that had been underneath his fur at the top of his eye/eyebrow....It just looks like a piece of corn and it moves from side to side....Anybody got any ideas? |
Can you take a picture of it? I never heard of what you are explaining. It sounds like you should take him into the Vet and get it checked out. |
Could be some sort of cyst / follicular / sebaceous. Post a pic maybe? At any rate though, a trip to the vet is a good idea. Please let us know what you find out. |
Hi folks, It turned out to be a tick...Horrible little thing, but was able to pull it off myself, but if anyone else has this problem the tick must be taken off from the bottom upwards otherwise if gripped by the body a poison could enter your dogs bloodstream. Read a bit on these little Devils now and they breathe through their bodies and sink their heads and legs into your dogs flesh....just looking like a little piece of corn hanging off your dogs skin. |
Oh my! Glad you figured out what is was and that you were able to take care of it. I remember the first time I saw an engorged tick. I didn't know what it was until I saw the legs moving at the base of the "corn kernel." |
Wow.. Never would have thought it would be a tick! Do you have him on any flea/ tick prevention? I would look into starting him on something K9 Advantix or Frontline.. Also where do you think he picked this tick up? Seems he picked it up at the groomer..?? Maybe look for a new groomer. |

Tiny just loves to bounce about in the long grass and looks so funny but this is how he has picked up the tick I'm pretty sure. |

I have Peanut on K-9 Advantix II, I've never had an issue with him getting fleas or ticks. |

That is probably the best thing you can do!! |

Never any problems. Max used to get ticks on Frontline. |
Oh wow, that is not what I was expecting to read. Lucky you got him clipped and found this. But happy to hear he is okay. |
