Apple cider vinegar, argan oil Hi, have your maybe tried using apple cider vinegar on your Yorkies hair? I have read many things here about Coconut oil, but Apple Cider Vinegar? I decided I will go to a nearby shop and give it a try. I like natural cosmetics, also for myself. I think that all things which are natural are great for us. Nowadays everything seems so artficial. I have also some argan oil at home, I bought this for myself and I ma using this instead of a cream before going to sleep. Jut a thought ... could argan oil be used on a dog? It is greasy you know...:animal-pa Everything about Yorkies - training and raising: Tips for growing a long coat |
I have heard of putting ACV in the dogs water but never the hair.. I have never thought about Argon Oil either. My Oscar has very sensitive skin I don't like to try human products on him.. |
Lots of folks use ACV here, for different things. Some put it in their water, others use as a supplement. I used some Argan the other day on Marcel's fur. He had some mats and I decided to try putting the oil on first. Worked awesome! |
Some natural things are great for you. However... keep in mind that Poison Ivy is VERY natural and 100% Botanical... and it's NOT so great for you ;) Another natural/botanical thing is pollen. Ragweed. Mold. These things can cause horrible allergic reactions in people. I have clients coming in all the time who tried some magic "tonic" they read about on Pinterest and they end up with a rash on their face. Sometimes you want to trust the professionals, and leave the "eye of newt" alone. If you want suggestions for "clean" cosmetics I can give you some. As for grooming with apple cider vinegar- try a "shot" of it during the rinse. It will "strip" any build-up out of the fur. Just avoid using it on/near the face and RINSE RINSE RINSE it out. It's acidic, so it will make your dog's pH fluctuate and potentially cause a skin issue. |
thank you for your answers Hi, thank you for your answers. I am very much interested in natural cosmetics, I have bought coconut oil. I gave up on most products from shops cause I have allergic and sensitive skin. As for my dog, I want to go also natural but at the same time avoid irritations etc. |
Argan oil is fine on a Doug's hair. IV SanBenard has a line using Argan oil. Use it sparingly because its very heavy. Apple cider is also wonderful, but I haven't heard it used for their hair. |
