Please help me... Hello everyone, its been a while and I am pretty desperate. My poor baby Bentley has a skin fungus its called Sporotrichosis. I noticed this while taking him on vacations, he had lots of lumps on his back almost like dandruff. I have no clue where he could have contracted this. He is currently seeing a Veterinary Dermatologist who has given me dedicated antifungal shampoos and given him a cocktail of injections periodically. The fungus is drying up but its still very visible and looks terrible. Its really affecting me because he slept on the bed with me every night and now poor little guy is in a play pen all alone. He screams and barks most of the day for attention but I cant let him out since its highly contagious. I pet him and immediately wash my hands etc. I am heart broken. Has anyone had this happen? Does anyone know of anything I can do to help besides the veterinarian, maybe a home remedy? |
Wow...I just did a little reading on his illness and it sounds pretty nasty...poor little Bentley!!! |
Oh my gosh . . I just looked it up and it looks very scary and painful. It looks like your pup has a long road to recovery ahead of him. I read that is was a secondary infection. I found some information that may help you understand and figure out the source of the initial infection. Here is a product I have seen a lot of great things about. My sister in law has 2 white German Shepards and her female snowball had a fungal infection on her front leg and side of the neck. She used this product  Amazon.com: Vetericyn Wound & Skin Care - 16... , and seen immediate results. What is funny is even a lot of people are using this product, as they make a human version called puricyn, but it's rx. My daughter ordered the vetericyn after comparing product ingredients, and bought some for psoriasis on her elbows and knees she's had all her life. She's 31 now, and she came by the other day to show me it was completely gone. I was so amazed after all the dermatologists I had taken her too all her life, who could not get rid of it. Apparently it's 99. Something % of super oxygenated water that promotes cellular growth. I even tried it on a cut and it healed really fast :-) might be worth a try ? Hope this helps. |
Hi, i have no advice but I just wanted to say I hope you find a solution for your sweet boy.. It is hard to see them in pain.. I will say a prayer for him that he feels better soon.. |
