What diet is your young puppy on ? Thanks in advance for the information :-) I am trying to figure out exactly what my 9 wheel old puppy needs in his diet daily :-) I'm trying to make sure I give him a balanced diet, that he will get the correct nutrients, and keep his poo from getting runny. It seems to go great and then he will get a runny poo, then he goes back to firm. I'm trying to figure out what is causing this :-) Thank you again so much. |
You should have this moved to the Health and Diet section, you will get better results there. You can click the little triangle and ask Admin/ Mod to move it ;) |

Well he should honestly get all his nutrients from his kibble.. What dry food are you feeding him? |
I am giving him royal canine yorkie puppy. He was on a rx food from the vet first along with nutrical and Caro syrup, because I rescued him last Thursday as he was going into a hypoglycemic coma from some not so nice people. I've been nursing him back, and he's doing wonderful, lots of energy. But he was having the occasional runny poo, and I think I have narrowed it down to the boiled chicken I was giving him after the nutrical. I have him pretty much transitioned to the kibble, with the nutrical a couple times a day. I did just give him a little treat like a baby spoon size, of the rx wet food mixed with kibble to get him to eat more kibble. |
Perfect, he should be getting all the nutrients from the RC! I would def hold off from giving him the chicken any time soon, but it’s not something I would never try again. It could be maybe just too much for him right now. Maybe when he is about a year or so, I would try boiled chicken to see if you get the same results. |
Unless he is not eating or he is showing symptoms of hypoglycemia I would stop the nutrical and just have it on hand for emergency's. |

The good thing is you know what the signs are of low blood sugar.. a lot new Yorkie owners don’t. As scary as that was, it really is a good thing you know what to look for, especially with him being so young! I think it is safe to say you both can relax and continue to grow your bond. :D |

Well the good news today is he is eating just the royal canine and water, his gums are staying nice and pink and he's super playful. He's just getting better and better :-) thanks everyone for the valuable info. I will still be checking his gums often but he is doing so wonderful right now. It just really amazes me the fight animals have to survive, and how quickly they bounce back. He's truly amazing xoxo |

Absolutely ;-) I will take some tomorrow, I also have a very cute video, it's kinda rated R as he was trying ro make green stuffed squeaker yorkie pups hahah. I need to figure out how to make my files a bit smaller so they will upload, but I have photoshop on here, on my iPad so I should be able to figure it out :-) Today mommy went on a shopping spree for new toys for little Gizmo, at home goods :-) lets just say he has a huge selection of toys lol. The have the best most unique toys there that are find anywhere else. I was so excited, they had multiple flavor/scented nylabones instead of just the regular brown beef smelling ones. His fav of the scents by far is bacon hahaha go figure. I will take pics of all his awesome new Xmas toys too hehe. |
