Best Yorkie/ Yorkie-Poo Diet Hi all, I adopted a tiny Yorkie-Poo from a shelter two years ago; she had Lyme's Disease, and had been rescued from a horribly neglectful back-yard breeder. She was emaciated, and barely survived the ordeal. Mia gained nearly a pound since I've had her...now she's a big 3+ pounds. :) We went from hand feeding to bowl feeding; after careful observation I found she can't tolerate grains, and I feed her Blue Buffalo grain free food, mixed with boiled chicken or chicken livers I cook myself. My question is this: is there anything I can be doing better for this little sweetheart? Thanks! |
Aw Bless her heart- sounds like she has found a wonderful home!! I feed Canine Caviar Open Sky. Peanut had really bad allergies and was in bad shape. Since he has been on CC his coat and skin look great. He even enjoys his food. I don’t have to add anything to make him eat, but once I week I will add boiled chicken, I will shred it and put a little on the top- just for a different taste. I don’t give him any wet food so that is his special treat. There are a lot of great foods to feed. You just need to find a food that you baby thrives on. A food she likes, has clear eyes, non itchy red skin, healthy poops.. etc. Once you find that- you have found the right food. Always research- see what company you believe in. Lots of companies have recalls, seems like there is one daily. Doing your own research is always the best thing. |
