Likewise! I have had to many pups come down sick after having that stuff dropped into their noses...and then you have to put the baby on antibiotics and they have the upper respiratory infection, which CAN go into pneumonia...., and it can take MONTHS to clear it up!!!....not a good thing. |

Morgan always gets a his bordatella/ I had a dog that got kennel cough and it was horrible |

Sadly, I have had to give it to Shelby-Dale 2 times because of boarding him. I can't find one place that boards animals that doesn't require it. :( |
Yeah me too/ I can't board Morgan without it. My groomer requires that also |

My 3 get the Injectable Bordetella every year, as they go to the groomer. I have never had a problem with the Injectable, but did have problems with the nasal. |
The nasal drop, (I THINK I WAS TOLD!), is the live virus...the injectable is not live... |
We did because we were traveling.... Never had a bad reaction |
I do not vaccinate against bordatella but when I adopted my Wolfhound mix from a Ca shelter, they gave him the intranasal just min before they turned him over to me & he got bordatella & pneumonia 3 x in 5 mo and now has Chronic Rhinitis as the vaccine damaged his sinuses. I will NEVER again allow ANYTHING be put in my pups noses.:thumbdown |

That happened to one of the babies that I had that was adversely affected by that krappe.....he NEVER got over it, and going forward, was continously ill with the chronic rhinitis.....THAT was when I decided I was not going to be taking my dogs to places that demanded I expose them to this vaccination. I felt inconsolable knowing I had caused my baby such chronic misfortune for the rest of his little life. |
My three had not had it for three years. But had taken them in for the injection before we went trucking. I have never had a issue with the shot. I just feel better when we stop to potty where lots of others have as well |
I don't know if people really realize that there are around, last I heard, about SIXTY strains of kennel cough, and I think the vaccine vaccinates for around 10-14 strains. It's like vaccinating for the common cold or the flu -- you can go ahead and do it, but you're vaccinating against something that is so prone to mutating that it's almost futile, ya know? It's so odd to me that it's required by so many, when it really protects against so little. Hello, Marketing and revenue stream ;)!!!? Personally, I'd rather avoid an unnecessary vaccine and let my dogs get a cold, then treat it with antibiotics. My kiddos have never been vaccinated against it, and have never contracted KC. |
It sure gives you a lot to think about/ unfortunately my groomer requires it and so does any place that we would board him even though we don't board Morgan very often. We don't go anywhere we can't take morgan |
Bordetella In SC all the kennels, doggie day cares, groomers, trainers and even some of the dog parks require it- They track it in their computer systems. |
