Yorkie-poo won't eat Hi all :) I'm a newbie here, and I bought my Smokey boy around a month ago. He's a healthy, happy, and hyper Yorkie-poo who was recently given a clean bill of health from the vet. From the time I brought him home, he has eaten Iams puppy food. The man I bought him from had raised him on it, and Smokey ate it very well with no digestion issues whatsoever. However, for the past week, Smokey acts like he doesn't want to eat very much. He takes a few bites when we wake up in the morning after our potty trip outside, and he may not eat anything else until way down in the evening. Today, I tried giving him a few Cheerios (the only people food he has ever been given), and he loves them. He is the first dog I have ever owned, so I'm paranoid and more nervous than I probably should be. Do any of you have any tips for getting my sweet boy to eat? Thanks! |
My pup was on Purina puppy from my breeder and I'm changing him over to blue buffalo puppy a little by little. He'll eat the BB first before he eats the Purina! They say these dogs are choosy eaters! |
Feeding a Yorkie-Poo Hi, My Yorkie Poo would hardly eat anything when I brought her home from the shelter, where they had been feeding her that refrigerated dog food...I had to hand feed her for a while...finally found that she did much better on grain free Blue Buffalo. I cook chicken for her (plain, no salt of course) and mix a little of that in. I've got to keep her away from my cat's food and any other grains, or she has a bad intestinal reaction. If anyone here has a better suggestion for Yorkie-Poo diets, please post. Thanks and best of luck with your baby! |
Iams is not quality food. I would switch him over. There are lots of suggestions. I feed mine blue buffalo freedom. Slowly mix the food until you have just the one. Can use toppers such as a little boiled chicken or cheese to entice them to eat. Then wean them off. |
My mom's yorkie-poo and my morkie are on grain free dog food. We found they both do better without the grains. Also we found grain-free dog treats which they love. |
