Bump on butt hole Has any one's dog ever had a small white bump on there dogs butt I mean the actual hole? It looks like a white bump almost like a pimple. I am think she is gonna need to go to the vet Monday and get it looked at. I have no idea what it could be and why. |
Can you post a picture? |
My guess would be irritation (razor or something), but perianal gland growths need to be ruled out. |

Yes. This is not a reason to see an ER vet. |

You can also try a cotton ball dipped in witch hazel (try to find an alcohol fee one - whole foods has). This is a natural way to shrink anal tissues. I had researched this when Teddy had feces crusted around his left by a Petsitter who just didn't clean him very well when I was on vacation one time :( |
I went ahead and made a vet appointment its at 3pm Sammy needs a bump on his ear checked out any way. |
Best wishes for Callie and Sammy. Teddy recently had a tiny whitehead on his anus. It took a couple of weeks to go away. |

I hope it is just a little irritation or a pimple. Please keep us updated what the vet says. |
Vet said it was a white head and that she was not going to pop it because she would be afraid it could get infected. She said to watch it and if it gets bigger or she gets more to call and she will need to probably go on antibiotics. Also her anal glands where full and she needed them emptied. Poor Sammy had a skin tag on his ear but the skin was thin and his rubbing it made it open up and it was not infected but she shaved the hair around it away because she said the hair would stick to it and could hold onto stuff and cause it to get infected they also did a non painful cauterizing of it because when she shaved the area is started bleeding pretty bad again. She said it should heal up but if it busts open she gave my mom a cleaner to use on it. |

White Bump on Base of Tail Lily has a white bump, looks almost like a pimple/white head, on the base of her tail, on the under side right near her bum. I noticed her licking more the past two days and investigated it. At a previous visit, the vet gave me some MalAcetic (brand) cleansing wipes for "cleaning skin folds, hot spots and other affected areas". I just cleaned the area with this and she hasn't gone back to lick it yet. I'd like to avoid a trip to the vet if possible, I think I'll just keep cleaning her for a couple of days and keep her from licking it so it doesn't spread. These particular wipes seem to be a bit stronger than our regular grooming wipes. I stopped using them for every-day use because they have a very strong peach smell that can be overwhelming. Besides the smell, I hope they are enough to do the trick and it's just something that needs to go away. If it doesn't get better or spreads any, I'll take her into the vet but it sounds like you moms have it figured out - either an allergic reaction or an infection. Hopefully I caught it early enough to just treat it topically on my own. I welcome any other suggestions, I will pick up a bottle of alcohol-free witch hazel to have on hand (great idea) but at least for now, it doesn't seem her tissue in that area is swollen at all. Besides the licking, her spirits are fine and she's eating/drinking/pooping/playing and acting like normal Lily. Crossing my fingers this one can just be treated at home! :xfingers: |
