yes... and I had 4...yes all 4 puking up the other day and I just know it was because dh gave them "just a taste" of his pork chop!!!! I am lucky it could have been a lot worst!! I sometimes cook a chicken breast in the mocrowave.. with a little water, so it is like boiling. I save the broth for their food too. They just love the chicken breast. egg whites is another treat that is ok in limited amounts... for example 1 egg would be enough for all 4 of my dogs - and two are in the 15 to 25 pound range. I microwave, boil or fry without fat in a non stick skillet. The white only. You are getting excellent advice and I know you will do well. |

ohh :( I gave Miley chicken with no skin but that still doesn't make it right! |
Yup, I will always feed Jackson some of my chicken (or any meat) if I'm eating it. If I'm eating a nugget or something, I just give him the white meat though and not the fried part. But if we are eating chicken breasts, we usually cook one extra for the dogs plain. I have no problem giving a dog a piece of meat (and neither does my vet. She said she shares tiny bits of food with her dogs). I won't do sausage or anything like that though. The one time Jackson got really sick and was throwing up all night was after he ate wayyy too much sausage that had come off a greasy pizza. I really think that's what did him in. But he's never otherwise had a sensitive stomach and I think it's because I've always shared little things with him. I don't give fatty foods or anything. But yeah, chicken, steak, turkey, etc, I don't mind sharing at all in small quanities. Or popcorn every now and then and cheerios, etc. |
