LP question Ok Callie had LP in one of her back legs and her ACL partially teared a few years ago and she had surgery on it. Do you still consider the knee a knee with LP or is is just a regular knee now? Hope that doesn't sound weird. |
Sorry im no help but i know someone could help with a good answer. Also i bunped the post!!:) Good Luck |

The LP causes them to be more suspectible to a torn ACL but no it doesn't correct the LP. Its two different surgeries. |
She could still have a luxating patella. They do repair them when they repair the ligament but sometimes the LP can return. Next time you see your vet, have her check it out. I have a pup who had a TPLO repair done on his cruciate ligament but two LP repairs failed and he still has LP grade 2 which at this point is just going to stay that way. His cruciate is fixed! My guess is she probably is fine...usually they are. Once in a while a pup can have a really difficult issue with bone structure and it gets in the way of LP repairs. |
Thanks. I think I will ask my vet next time where in. |
