Joint and muscle supplements Hello Fellow Yorkie Lovers...I just wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions for an affordable joint and muscle supplement. My Nala (5 years old) was prescribed "Rejuvenate" but it is very pricey and I have to chop the pills into 8th's for her. Very annoying and often wasteful because the pills just crumble. So any advice from yorkie owners that have had success with the joint and muscle supplements would be wonderful. I would like to avoid any health issues or surgeries in the future. Thanks! |
Ian uses Dasuquin. I cut his in forths, and he loves it; he thinks it is a treat! It is a prescription supplement, and is more affordable to order online. My first bottle from the vet was $94 for a relatively small bottle. The bottle online was twice the size, and half the price. |
We have been using Cosequin DS Plus MSM. Get it from Walmart for $19.97 for 60 count bottle. I just ordered some Phycox from amazon.com and will try that one next. I got a 120 count bottle from around $35 shipped. It should actually work out to be cheaper than the Cosequin and appears to be a more potent formula. Also, the Phycox is soft chews so it should be easier to cut them. They also have a Phycox small bites which is even cheaper. We get the large ones because we also have Lady, our 13 yr old 90 lb yellow lab. She is on these supplements and needs the bigger size. |
I use the Dasuquin chews they break easy and Callie loves them. |
