Royal Canin and Cesar mix Is it okay to feed my baby yorkie this when I bring him home? If so, how much should I put down? I have read that some people do the Cesar in the AM and the PM. For a 12 week old puppy, should I do half a container of the Cesar at each feeding? |
I would do half a container per feeding or a half container a day for that age. I give my dogs a half of a container but it is more of a snack to them. My dogs used to eat the Royal Canin but It bottered my dogs allergies so I had to switch. |
I feed cesars to cali. only thing she will eat and she gets 1/4 tin 3 times a day and one meal gets a little ground beef in it. My pom who weighs 12 1/2 lbs only gets 1/4 tin 2 times a day and is overweight. She gets no exercise because of her hip problem and I can't tak ehr for walks anymore. Cali is gaining steadily on the amount I am giving her and is not underweight or overweight. I am trying to keep her on the slim side because of what happened to my pom. I found this amount buy giving her a little more and she didn't eat it, so she pretty much set her own limits. |

You need this little one on puppy food and not adult food for the 1st year of its life. Also if you introduce soft food (which is not the best for their teeth) you probably will have to feed him soft food for the rest of his life. Many members use Chicken Soup for dogs/puppies and rave about it. I personally do not feel that Little Cesar's is the best dog food you can provide your dog and once you start it is tough to change them over. Don't get me wrong because when I can't get a dog to eat I give them Little Cesars and they love it but I am sure it is high on fat. It is so much easier to start from the beginning with a good quality dog food and not skip all over the placeIMHO. |
I give Millie a teaspoon of little Cesar and I mix in a teaspoon of the Eukemba puppy kibble 3 x a day. She is 13 weeks old. So far, its working really well. |
I feed my little ones about a tablespoon ( or less) of the cesar just so it it coats the royal canin puppy ( if you stick it in the micro-wave for a couple of seconds it gets soft so it coats the kibble ..) and it worked even for my pickiest eater. Gradually I leave the little Ceasar out and they then are just eating the kibble. :) |
