New Member - Hello Whenever I have a puppy question and search the web I end up here! I have a six month old Biewer yorkie named Gus Gus. I have a question about teeth. I've read posts about puppies not losing their teeth but mine is losing so many. Within the last week he has lost four in the back and I just noticed two of his incisors are loose. Two of the four in back do have adult ones in, they came in next to the ones he lost. It is hard to check but it seems like there are a lot of spaces and now he has trouble chewing his food. The teeth he does have are in good shape, very white. Am I just being a worried new mom? I'm ninety nine percent sure he's fine but I would hate to wait and then find out there is a problem when it is too late. Thanks. :D This is such a great site! |
Welcome to yorkie talk!! I'd love to see some pics of Gus Gus, I'm sure everyone else would too, so please post some if you can. :aimeeyork I'm not positive, but I would think it's ok that he's loosing so many teeth. Some people have given their dogs some soft dog food instead of the hard, dry kind during teething to try to help. |
Thanks for the welcome. It is nice to have a place to come to for answers. I'll switch to wet food for a while. I've never posted a picture before but I'll give it a try. Thanks again. |
IMO I think it is normal for your puppy to be loosing that amount of teeth...when Buddy was a pup I noticed him loosing teeth but never with Jake. Even though they both had to have their incisors pulled. I would think that Gus Gus is fine. |
That's what I was hoping to hear. I started to worry when I noticed the incisors were loose because they are pretty big and I thought they were adult teeth. Guess not. I tend to worry over every little thing because I lost my first yorkie last year because of a stupid mistake I made. Your replies have made me feel better. Thank you. |
