Blue Buffalo Wilderness vs Fromm I'm really wanting to change our dog food. Kiki has a sensitive tummy pretty much anything and everything makes her sick. And as strange as it sounds I'm not happy with her #2 movements. She is on Purina one now as my vet suggested or science diet which I don't think is much better. I did narrow my choices down by what I know I can get at my local pet stores. There are several choices of flavor besides brand. Guess I'm lost in picking a new food out. I just want her to be happy healthy and enjoy. Would love advice on food and treats! If we are upgrading food treats need to upgrade too! |
I've heard the Fromm Game Bird is good for allergies. I'm not positive about tummy issues though. I think that Fromm has a lot of ingredients. So it may not be the best thing to feed if your pup has a sensitive stomach. It could be difficult to nail down the exact ingredient that she's having issues with. Maybe you could ask your vet about a prescription diet from Royal Canin or Science Diet? Sorry I'm not much help with that. As for treats, I keep diced chicken in the fridge. I also give Cheerios & shredded cheddar. Frozen green beans, frozen peas, strawberries, a baby carrot sliced in 1/4ths, an apple slice, etc. I started giving human food as treats because I got scared about those treats from China that got a bunch of dogs sick. Plus, it's so much cheaper for me to give them whatever I have in my fridge/freezer/pantry. |
my dogs could not handle fromm it was too rich I think a lot of different ing. I never tried blue buffalo but heard it was a good food. I found with my girls grain free was the best for them. We went with grain free natural balance. firm stools but not too firm:) and only 2 times a day |
I am very careful about making sure nothing she eats is from China. And she loves peanut butter Cheerios my husband thinks I'm crazy but if I can eat it why can't she I know grapes are bad but not sure what other fruits and veggies are. Her stools are balls about every other day this week and too firm. She usually hides to do these |
I believe there is a recall on Fromm dog food. I am happy with Blue Buffalo. My Yorkies stools are normal, they like this food and there is plenty of choices you can pick to accomodate your dog. I would not feed Purina. Go on line and review the dog food reviews-look for the best rated dog foods. |

I agree with Teresa, please link a source because many people here feed Fromm including me. |
Here is a source for recalls. No mention of Fromm: https://www.avma.org/news/issues/rec...ls-alerts.aspx |
I recently switched mine from California Natural to Fromm's grain free. Roxie did not do well on the Fromm's so I only give it to Cali and Pixie. It upset her tummy. |
I feed Blue Basic to my three due to allergies and tummy troubles. I have a senior of 11, a one yr old and a five yr old. |

We use the Fromm grain free Surf and Turf and Cali does fine on it. I also like the NOW small bit grain free as well. |
I feed mine blue buffalo freedom, I thought wilderness might have too much protein. |
Louie is doing great on the Fromm Puppy food. Doesn't upset his stomach at all. Genea |
