Leftover food
 
Guys, just a simple question,

when your baby leaves some food on his bowl for his last meal of the day (dinner), or any leftover, do you keep it for the next meal time, tomorrow, or u throw it away?

For example when it's wet food as maybe it's not good to keep for tomorrow once it's out of its can (no matter I put it in refrigerator)?

I throw it away. Premium foods spoil faster because they have fewer preservatives. Better safe than sorry is my personal policy. Plus, my dogs tend to turn up their noses at food that has been out too long. :)

Hi. For dry food, I keep it until the next day with no problem. For wet food, you could refrigerate the bowl with plastic wrap over it for one night, and then put it out in the morning, making sure the puppy eats it before giving more, AND washing out the food bowl thoroughly so you don't have any carry over--you don't want bacteria growing in it and carrying over in the food from day to day. It would be better though if you could feed the dog only what it will eat during the day and throw away what little remains at the end of the day and wash the bowl thoroughly each night. In time, you will know how much to put out.

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: Try to put out only what the dog should/will eat during the day.

I transfer canned food into a glass container & store it in the fridge for up to 3 days. I have 4, so I use it up by then. If he leaves left overs, I would throw that out if it's been out for more than 20 mins. Maybe next time, you can give him less & see if he finishes it & give him a little more & you can figure out how much he eats per meal.

I think it's right for not keeping too long the wet food. Of course usually I keep in container inside the refrigerator if he doesn't finish it; but maybe I will keep it only for one more day max.

Next time I will try to lessen the portion, but actually I just try to give him the portion recommended on the food bag/can. Though when he's moody, sometimes he can eat much less and even skip eating. Yorkshire is really like human baby ::p

Yes I will try to give him little by little next time. Only that my BEI is sometimes moody. Most of the time he eats normal or like a pig :p , but sometimes he can eat much less than he should

With me, be it wet or dry if it is left over it get's thrown away. I do not chance anything at all with my girls.
