A bit of yellow teeth Hi Bella is 1.5 and she is starting to have a bit of yellow color At the top of her teeth. Is there a way to get rid of it or does She need dental cleaning already? Thanks |
Have you been brushing them? If not I would start and use CET tooth paste. |

I need to wash their face and it becomes a huge task. The girls Also seems to be bothered by that way too much I do use Leba3 spray once in a while but I am hesitant because it has alcohol in it. |
Did you use CET tooth paste? It never makes Callie's face sticky and if a little gets on her face I just use a wet cloth and it comes off easy. It's really important to brush small dogs teeth because they are known to have teeth problems and you don't want a 5 year old having to get most of there teeth pulled. I am sure they would rather have there teeth brushed then not have them at all. Bad teeth can lead to many health problems. |

They do have a little yellowing on the top of their back teeth right below the gum line...even w/daily brushing. Quote:

You do not need to use toothpaste to brush their teeth. Use a soft toothbrush, run it under water, and gently brush. It is the mechanical action of brushing and not the toothpaste that makes the most difference for the teeth and gums. |
What is CET toothpaste? |
it is very important to brush their teeth. I also use petzlife which helps. My daughter's yorkie is 8 yrs old and just had 6 teeth pulled.....I am pretty sure she was not that great about brushing them. So if your little ones teeth is starting to yellow start brushing them bc it will prevent having teeth pulled in the future. |

2 Attachment(s) Jackson just had a dental cleaning, here are his before and afters. You can see that it's not like they were rotten or anything but I thought it was enough to justify a cleaning. I had slacked and stopped brushing for months, and he ended up needing one IMO. Vet said they weren't bad but had some gingivitis starting so it was good I did it when I did as a preventative. No teeth had to be pulled. I just needed a 'fresh start' so that's why I got them professionally cleaned. I had Oravet applied while he was under and it's kind of like a plaque barrier. The one the vet applied lasted 2 weeks and now I will start doing it once a week here on out. You just rub it along their gums. I also am using Wysong Dentatreat at the recommendation of my vet. You just sprinkle a bit on their food. I also like to use HealthyMouth, I have the gel though and it's kind of messy (it's green in color) and I don't really like how you apply it (with a q-tip)... I don't do this every day. They also have the kind of stuff you put in their water. I like Petzlife because it's super easy to rub on their teeth and I like the bottle it comes in. Otherwise, yes brushing is the best! I like CET toothpaste and so did the veterinary dentist specialitst we saw 2 years ago. |

I can’t brush Peanut’s teeth, he really doesn't let me and he puts up such a fight. Unless DH helps me hold him I just end up brushing his beard and making him mad. Plus his mouth is super tiny and it is so hard getting the way back molars. That being said Peanut gets a dental about every 2 years.. or less depending on how he needs it. He has had one 2009/2011/2013. He is going to be 6 in May and he was born in 2007. Since I don’t brush- I still look in his mouth. Make sure there isn’t anything going on in there I don’t know about. His teeth are healthy and he has not had any pulled!! I will continue to get his dental cleanings as often as needed. |
