LadyJane you certainly are defensive, but that's ok, I expect that. To clear up one thing and then I will leave this subject for individuals to make their choice. I am getting my first Yorkie... but I have been "in dogs" forever but seriously since the late 70's. Thank you for sharing.

I suppose it all depends upon what a person's definition of defensive is. If you are saying that I am defending a reputable company....you betcha! :);)

I don't believe they made any formula changes with Ideal Balance, since it is relatively new. My Lab is eating the Ideal Balance Small Breed formula. He's also eating the Adult Small Bites from the regular line that is "new & improved". Honestly, my Lab is not in the best condition health wise. He does have stage 3 melanoma in his jaw. So, the vomiting could be from something other than food. But he was on a bland chicken/rice diet for 5 days & then vomited again when the SD was re-introduced. I'm REALLY hoping it's not the food. I have a lot of respect for Hill's. That looong questionaire is nuts. But I guess that's one of the things they have to do to keep their QC standards. Nevertheless, I'm going to stop feeding him SD until I can pinpoint the issue. I scheduled a vet appointment for him too. Maybe he's just sick. I'll update if I hear anything from Hill's or my vet.

Maybe it was not the food?? I mean..it is logical if they changed it that it could upset tummies but I don't know...it did not happen to me.

I too feel that they are a reputable company, even still. If it is the new formula change they need to know that it is causing problems with some pets, thats why I sent the email, I will answer thier questions and am fully prepared to send them samples of the Toy and small breed and sensitive stomach formulas that I have to be tested.

I finally just had the time to sit down and finish the questionaire that Science Diet sent me via email.
I have slowly started my little girl on SD I/D, she is still eating some of the chicken/rice. She is slowly making progress, she still has puddin poo, but its not longer bloody, thank god!
I have choosen to give her the ID because no other vet around me sells anything other than the science diet, it doesnt seem that they changed thier rx formula's.

Thanks for the update.

I got my questionnaire from Hill's yesterday. I'll find some time to answer it this weekend. In the meantime, my Lab is eating Royal Canin. My little ones are now eating that as well, the XSmall Adult. They prefer it over the YT variety.

Nothing unusual or dramatic came out of my Lab's check-up. I'm still not convinced it was the food. But I want to be cautious.

I understand compeletly. I dont have anyone close to me that sells Royal Canin or the Anamaet that Brit suggested and it was almost 80 dollars to have wet and dry of the Royal Canin shipped to me and that included free shipping. I just cant afford that right now. Im trying Nurtisource weight management for my older dogs, which also states on the bag " for use with in-active dogs" which my dogs are not super active except for the puppy and Im in the process of transitioning her over to nurtisource small/meduim breed puppy food, so far so good.
I still have my toy poodle on the I/D and chicken/rice and will probably keep her on it until her diarreha goes away.
Im waiting on a response back from Hill's to see what they have to say about the food, sickness etc.
I will update again when they get back to me.

That's really too bad that you can't find RC near you. I know that both PetSmart & Petco carry it near me. I'm just surprised because it's very available where I am. Chewy.com has free 2 day shipping if you spend more than $49. I order from them all the time & I LOVE them. The have excellent customer service & they even send me handwritten thank you cards! I've tried practically every single dog food out there...from Orijen to BilJac. And I can honestly say, my pups do better on RC & Science Diet than anything else. Plus, even my finicky eater will even eat the RC kibble dry. The best part is, I have faith in both companies.

I'll update when I hear from Hill's as well.

PS -- I feed my puppy Royal Canin for Yorkshire Terrier Puppies and Blue Buffalo for small breed puppies. She likes them both and is quite the chow hound.

I do not like science diet and would not feed it to my Yorkies. I had a poodle who had the worse skin problems on this stuff. I think some vets get a kick back for selling this food. Do your research and check out the ingredients in this food. I like Blue Buffalo and my Yorkies are doing well on that.
