Hip Dysplasia bilateral Hello everyone! My 7 month old Yorkie "Lola" :aimeeyork was just diagnosed with severe bilateral hip dysplasia and has to have two surgeries to fix it . At first, before x-rays were taken, they thought it might have been perthes disease, but x-rays confirmed it to be dysplasia. Wondering if anyone can give me some insight as to recovery, etc. I am so worried about her. They want to do the surgery right away since it is so severe. I just can't believe that this has happened to her. I thought that breeding was suppose to stop with this condition???? I had her fixed at the same time they put her under for the x-rays. Any input is greatly appreciated. |
I'm so sorry... and don't have a clue, I've never heard of this before. Have you talked to the breeder? |
I'm so sorry to hear about Lola. It sounds like you've already gotten a diagnosis and I assume that you are dealing with a surgeon. I hope Lola does well with her surgery. |
I bought her from a very reputable local puppy store and have contacted them. They have reached out with open arms to help with Lola and reassured me that they will be speaking with the breeder. I have also advised the agency she was registered through. I'm very thankful that she is in my hands, I could not imagine what would have happen to her if she was with someone who could not help her, there is a yorkie heaven!! Thanks for all of your replies!! I am trying to post a picture of her, she is such a cutie and a very lovable yorkie. I will keep everyone posted just in case anyone else has to go through this, they will know what to expect. Thanks again! |
