Hungry all the time? Hi all,Well Enzo has been home 2 days and is really doing quite well. He is a 6lb 7 month old. Curious like a cat and he follows me everywhere! He's eating Blue Buffalo Puppy and gets snacks of carrots, Cherrios and a small pet store training snack. He always seems to be looking for more. Anytime anyone stands up he is waiting for a treat :) I'm assuming that's normal, but I'm just hoping he's not actually hungry. The bag says to feed 1 1/4 cup a day. |

you cannot always depend on the bag to give an accurate feeding amount.. 1 1/4 cups per day is a lot for a 6 pound pup.. i would say maybe 3/4 cup per day (1/4 cup 3 X per day).. just my opinion. my oscar is 1 1/2 yrs @ 9 lbs and gets 1/2 cup per day |
mine is almost 6lbs and she gets 1/4 cup twice a day plus a tablespoon of wet food or a teaspoon of cottage cheese. Thats even alot for a yorkie but she scarfs it down. I give her a few treats during the day. 11/4 cup is really alot.. |
Could be he is going through a growth spurt or could be just a lil begger! :) You seem to be feeding him plenty and his weight is really good for his age. :idontknow Glad you decided to join our yorkie obsessed group! |
That's kinda what I was thinking. It's not so much the amount, more the frequency I questioned. I will try 3x a day at 1/4 cup and see if he's more satisfied. He does love his carrots & Cherrios, are they ok to give in between? |

till my oscar was 6 months i fed him 4 x per day then 3 x till he was a year and then 2 x per day.. |
My Enzo is a chewer...not destructive thank goodness, but he always needs/wants something in his mouth! I give him DiggIt bones, he quite enjoys them!I'm wondering how many are too many? He chews on about 3 a day, never finishes as I throw them out when they get too small so he won't choke. Is it ok for him to have them. They seem to calm him down a bit as he lays and chews on them. |
