My poor pumpkin.. Peanut threw up bile Friday evening..then ate some kibble. After that he seemed ok. This morning I noticed he threw up again. He has been acting just blah today. Not total sick, but not 100%. He also hasn't ate any dry food today. Should I boil him a ckn breast and maybe try to give him some Pedalight? His tummy is kinda grumbling- he just pood and he wasnt diahrreah but he wasnt soft serve. Kinda just med soft :( I also just gave him some kaopectate from the vet.. Hopefully that will settle is tummy. |
I'm so sorry, does this happen very much? Has he eaten anything out of the ordinary? I always worry about pancreatitis. Sorry, I can’t advise you, but I’m sending prayers for your little Peanut. |
Peanut Poor little Peanut, sorry you feel bad. Perhaps he has a little bit of an acid tummy. Has the vet ever given Pepsid for this kind of thing? It works well if my baby has an occasional bile throw up. Chicken and rice is good too. Of course it could be a sign of something deeper, but only you know your pup and his behaviors. If it continues after a light diet and antacid then I am sure it will be a vet visit! Feel better soon. |
Thanks guys.. No it doesn't happen a lot. Nancy- he hasn't ate anything out of the ordinary.. I'm making him a boiled ckn and I got some canned pumpkin- hopefully he eats!! I know he feels more crappy bc he hasnt had anything to eat.. Hopefully after he has a full tummy he feels better :( |

Personally, I probably would not feed him given his history of pancreatitis. I would keep an eye on him, if any worse, go to the vet. If the night is uneventful, then yes I would feed a very small bland meal of 50 percent chicken breast skin and fat removed and 50 percent white rice very well cooked in a lot of water. The signs you mention -- inappetence, lethargy, vomiting and diarrhea are concerning and only a vet can tell if it is pancreatitis or just gastritis or something else. If you see him in any pain or he is in the prayer position you need to get him to a vet for support or he can go down fast. |
I'd avoid the pumpkin as well. |
Aw man Cathy should have read ur post before.. We just got home. I offered him chicken and pumpkin and he ate it up, followed by some water! He already seems a little better! Still going to watch him see how he does the rest of the night. Right now I'm so glad he ate- bc at my Moms he wasnt having any of it. |
Poor little guy hope he is feeling better soon. |
Well he seems to be better today!! He hasn't pooped so crossing fingers it will be normal!! |
