Not feeling well.... Teeka has been not feeling well since yesterday. :( The little sneak was in the garage and got into our outside dogs food! :eek: Yesterday she had a loose BM and did not want any supper. This morning, she ate her breakfast but refused lunch. A bit later, she threw up a large amount of food! She slept most of the day and didn't even want to play with Tatiana. I gave her some Nutri Cal to keep her blood sugar level. I called the vet to see if I should bring her in......He suggested to first give her Pepto Bismal and some rice w/ boiled chicken. Being a tiny yorkie with a sensitive tummy, he wants to see her tomorrow if she is no better! She gobbled the chicken w/rice!! Now, praying that it stays down! It scares me when my babies are sick! My last one passed away because of vomiting and not being able to find the cause. |
when Jess had some stomach issues recently I gave her pepto, chicken and pumpkin and it worked great! Hopefully your baby will do the same.. |
It's so scary when the babies are sick. So many awful things go through our heads and with these babies, so much can go wrong so fast. What you are doing is good and you've already been in contact with your vet and you're doing all that you can. Best thing we can do right now is pray so that's what I will do. Hopefully Teeka just has an upset tummy from the other dogs food and will feel better tomorrow. I will keep her in my prayers. I know how scary it is when our babies are sick. |

That little imp!!! And she was soooooooooo proud of herself, I bet! She hit the mother load when she found the "stash" in the garage! Was sure she had died and gone to heaven!!!! I hope she is feeling better....I think this is like the kid that has an absolute ball eating everything they can rapidly un-wrap and swallow from the Easter basket candy.....but I also bet she didnt learn a thing and is probably just having glorious dreams of getting into that garage again! Bless her heart....keep us updated on how she feels and what the vet says! (Dont guess she could have gotten into anything else in her Great Garage Caper???) |

Oh Deb, what a relief but she is a little sneeker. I know they are fast, we've seen Princess Sophie in a mad dash to the door when letting Hansel outside so we had to put a bell on her. So happy that Teeka is doing better! Blessings!! |

Thank you all for the prayers and concerns for my little 'sneak"! I probably got overly worried about her being sick. After the loss of Tameka, it really scares me when they are sick! I love and appreciate all the support this community gives to everyone in need! Blessings to all! :) |
Well Teeka refused to eat this morning. I took her to the vet with Tatiana. Tatiana had to get her last puppy shot.....I have the vet check Teeka and she has a temp. of 103! Not real high but enough to cause concern. Thinks that she has an intestinal infection and put her on an antibiotic and Chicken and rice diet for a few days. I am so glad I had her checked out! The vet is thinking it is caused by the low quality dog food since yorkies has such sensitive systems. She also has not gained any weight in 3 months...not even an ounce! Need to fatten her up a bit! Teeka is on Mama patrol from now on! No more garage capers for her!!!! |
