Dr. Tim's Food and Annamaet
 

If anyone wants a food that is formulated by a Ph.D. canine nutritionist and a veterinarian experienced in competitive dog sports -- check out Dr. Tims.

I have heard nothing but great things, and the man behind the food is really amazing. I have never spoken before to a food company where you speak directly to the man himself who formulates the food, and this guy answers any question you throw at him.

Not to mention, some of the top dog professionals have used this food with such great luck. The only thing that sucks is it's not easily available in stores, from my experience, so I'm going to place my order on Chewy.com (Free shipping if you spend $49). He spends his money on testing and science vs. marketing.

Admittedly, haven't tried the food yet, but I wanted to spread the knowledge. Very cost efficient, won't break the bank, but very trustworthy company, and good ingredients, low ash, etc.


Also, Annamaet... seems like an absolute fantastic company. Again, I received a great response from the owner himself. Annamaet has been around for over 25yrs and is owned by a guy that is well known for his expertise and has published quite a bit of research. He's worked in the lab of Dr. Kronfeld at U of Penn. His foods have been used for a long time, so have the supplements. Apparently if your dog has surgery at Penn or Cornell there is a good chance they will feed Impact post-op. He has published scientific research, is well known for his expertise, and accomplished sportsman himself, Vice Chair of the ISDRA for quite a while and who was active in drafting the NRC guidlines.

Just an FYI if anyone is looking for a good trustworthy food, with good ingredients, who maybe doesn't trust some companies that they used to...

Debating on trying Dr. Tims or Annamaet. Not sure which one yet. I'll update you on how he is doing after a month or two.

I've been considering the regular Kinesis formula for a while. I like how open Dr. Tim is about every aspect of his products and he seems like a very helpful guy. The only sticking point for me is that I'd have to order it online. Looking forward to an update whichever food you choose!

Brit, I am curious as to where you found his credentials. I looked all over the website...must be missing something.

Have you ever tried Amicus? It is a good food from a good company too (Horizon). They also have Horizon Legacy, which is a very good food. We feed our dogs Amicus, Legacy, and some Fromm formulas. We rotate between these for some variety.

Wish I saw this b4 I ordered a 26# bag of grain free Fromm!

There shouldn't be anything wrong with the grain free Fromm. That is a very good food.
