Ok, back to Merrick and zacana. OP, are you still confused? |
For Champion, you can google mad cow. Re-Orijen they used a cow that unknowingly had BSE. I think it did have a pneumonia diagnosis though? Not sure. But the big thing was the irradiation Champion claims they knew nothing about. Somebody signed the consent form... And why didn't they understand AU import laws? It just seems odd. I believe they have said they apply the technical definition of 'fresh' which they say means the meat has never been frozen. Their meat comes from animals fit for human consumption, but when it gets to them no human would be eating it. No big thing to feed byproducts usually, but most people that buy Orijen/Acana think they are getting something of higher quality. |
OK, you two are making me sick this morning.:eek: :2omg: |
Food????? I don't need to know this. GROSS! Our poor dogs! Fancy admitting to all that trash they put in our beloved pets' food! Enough to make me go veggie! |

Sorry. I don't mean to upset anyone's bellies...ill hold off on talking about the odor problems that champion had - supposedly now that has improved and thankfully Canada is cold so the smell probably could be worse in warm places. |
Food??? Thank you for the kindness. LOL! This commercial food issue is getting impossible. |
Y'all seriously are making me sick yuckie. The sad thing is until dog food company's have to say where there are getting the meat from on the animal all dog food company's are using meat we our selves would not eat. The only sure fire way to know what your dog is eating is to make the food your self. |
Mine is on blue buffalo grain free, doing fine. Switched from purina. |
Ive always been one to jump on the gotta try that dog food because so and so is using it bandwagon and have always gone back to science diet. It is the only food that my dogs do well on. The only issue I had with SD was that my dogs would get stinky and would need baths more often, but now that they have reformulated their foods thats not an issue anymore. :) I also use fresh pet chicken and rice dog food rolls as a topper and a treat. My new puppy Nahla came to us eating Purina puppy chow. I tried switching her over to a different food and she gets the runs. When I took her to the vets for her check up, her vet, one that I trust and have had for many years asked what I was feeding her she said that its a fine food, thousands of dogs grew up on it with very few issues. So untill she can tolerate something a little better she will stay on Purina, if she cant ever make that switch over than she will remain on Purina products. I will continue to feed my dogs what they do best on, not what others feel is best for them. If Acana is working for your pup then I would keep him on it! :animal36 |
Morinville News » News Archive » Champion Petfoods behind recent Morinville phone survey Here is one of the smell complaint links. I dunno if this is common aming food makers though. The sugar plant an hour from us smells awful. |
