Sorry to hear about Sam! |
another day.. and not so tired lol But my eyes hurt I have read so much. I have sam's test.. he has protein in his urine 2+ but he does not have protein loss. 2 of his other values are just a "hair" over normal. He did have a bladder infection and I am reading that could cause a false positive. I am going to take him back in a month a and have the blood work done. I will say the information from the support group on Yahoo is really great. I ordered the food and I got a homecooked receip from balance-it. I think I have it covered for a month anyway. Thanks for the help |

No I have to thank you... without yall making me think about what I wanted as treatment. I have called the vet 5 times, I keep thinking of more questions an wanting to be clear on what Sammy's issue is. I do feel a lot better then I did yesterday. I remember about this time last year when I thought I was going to loose Bailey... yall helped me then too. I just don't know what I would do without you LJ!!! |

I think you are going to have your Sam for a long time...I definitely hope so! He is lucky to have a mom who will do what it takes for him! :) |
Sounds like you are on the right track Shinja! Keep us updated on your sweet Sam. |
It has been awhile and thought I would do an update on sam. Well... he did eat the Hill's kd diet for a while (the can) then one day he just would not eat it. The vet teck said if he was hungry enough he would eat it... after about 3 days I just did not agree anymore. Now I am homecooking a couple recipes I have, one from the balance-it site, one from my vet (well...not MY vet but a visiting vet copied one out of her manual) and one from another site.... I can look up the link if anyone would like it. The thing is sam will eat the hill's kibble --the corn does not seam to bother him...but Bailey was eatting some too and he had a very VERY bad reaction (10 days of steriods) so I have to be soooo careful now. The days of free feeding are over. My dd has the puppy in our house too, so I have 4 dogs, each with a different nutritional need. ugh Sam seams fine, he is eatting very well! Weight is stable. He is normal in his water intake and going potty. I think he is acting better then before. I guess I will know if I am doing the right thing we he has his next blood work --in Aug. |
Glad the homecoming is working for Sammy. Please keep us updated. |
Thanks for the update. I am glad Sam is doing better. Hoping for good results in August. |
