Wallee | 03-19-2013 09:36 AM | Found a chew that's somewhat safe? With all the negative things I have come accross about things that we give our dogs to chew on I was starting to feel like "nothing was safe."
When I first got Wallee my sister gave me a chew she had purchased from her vet as her dogs suffered from dental problems. He really liked it so I went to my vet and purchased the ones for tiny dogs...he turned his nose up at those. I then took him to puppy classes and they recommended bully sticks. He did like those at first and we managed to find some that were smoked so they didn't smell too bad. As luck would have it, he grew tired of those and I thought that was a good thing because I had a link sent to me telling of all the bad things associated with the bacteria in those. So, off I went again and got him an antler..He absolutely loves the anters, however I have now been reading about the tooth fractures from chewing on anything hard. He's not a big fan of nylabone chews so hmmmm....decided to go back to the vet for the chews they sell which are treated with something to help combat tarter. Luckily he is not a real big chewer, however it is nice to give him something to chew on when we sit to watch tv at night. The name of the chews are ENZODENT...Has anyone else ever given these chews to their pups?...sometimes information makes things so confusing. |
