My Yorkie's ear went floppy! I have a 2 and a half month old yorkie and one of his ears went floppy. Is this normal? Should I take him to the Vet? |
It's pretty normal in young pups so I wouldn't be alarmed. Toki's ears were both up when we got her and I want to say a couple days later one of her ears flopped. And a week later that ear went back up and the other one flopped lol. You can always have your groomer shave the back of his ears to encourage them to stand. |
I heard that the reason the ears go flop is because they are teething at that age. I wouldn't worry too much. My pups 3 months old and both his ears of flopped. |
Probably has to do with teething. Some yorkies have stronger ears than others. If the hair on the ears gets too long, they get too heavy to stand up. We have to get Maggie's ears tipped so they will stand up. If it gets too long, they flop over. Ginger has one ear that stands up no matter what, and one that flops no matter what. |
ok! thank you so much guys!!! Do you guys know any tricks to sooth the teething my poor guy started whimpering a little and when he bites on stuff he stops :aimeeyork |

floppy ears erect The groomer shaved the back of precious ear and then taped it up. After just 1 day her little ears were just as perky as could be.=) here is a link on how to do it.
