question about coconut oil.....

I have a coconut oil question.....Is there a difference between organic coconut oil and organic virgin coconut oil?

Wish i could answer this sorry, but i know the organic virgin c oil is the one that was being recommended here for the dogs as well as people, hope this helps :)

I get my coconut oil from Tropical Traditions. It was recommended by a lot of people on YT. They have a lot of sales, including buy one/get one free sales. Their website has a wealth of information on coconut oil. You may find your answer by looking at these links:

Maybe this Youtube will explain it a little better. By the way, Coconut oil manufacturers do not yet have an industrywide standard attached to the virgin tag. Your biggest indicator of virgin oil is if it tastes like a coconut, but some people don't like the flavor and they say that refined is just as healthy.

I use coconut oil myself and my family as well, however my 5 month old Boy would not have anything to do with it. As soon as he smells it he walks away from it. Don't know why.

I use Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil which I get at GNC. I have a jar for myself and a jar for Riley... Although I haven't had to use any whatsoever on Riley since switching to Canine Caviar.

Thanks, Nancy......that made it more clear as to the differences. I will use what I have as it is a good choice, but I want to still find the virgin coconut oil! I used the oil on my rough, cracked & dry hands and what a difference it made!

I rubbed this on my hand this morning and I am so extremely shocked how much better they feel and look after one application! I am going to do this daily to help with my dry, cracked, abused hands!

Coconut oil on skin

Has anyone tried rubbing coconut oil into their Yorkie's coat after bathing? I read somewhere that a lot of folks who show their Yorkies do this to soften the coats and make them more manageable. I would think it would be great for their skin also. I have not tried it yet, but am considering it.
