Pooky, Your Breath STINKS! 13 weeks old today and Pooky's breath smells no better than a sardine can...what's that all about? He only eats Royal Canine kibble and a few blades of grass :D |
Awwww I thought puppies breath was suppose to smell good! Haha. :D:D |
Poor Pooky :( One of mine always gets rug lint or hair stuck in between her teeth & gums. Yes, she chews the rugs :( I REALLY have to inspect her teeth twice a day to make sure there isn't anything stuck in there. Otherwise, it STINKS! Maybe Pooky has something stuck in his teeth? |
I remember Toki had puppy breath when we first got her and then she developed some unpleasant breath throughout the entire time she was teething! Ick! Not a problem anymore, thank goodness! |
Well thank goodness! Sounds like Pooky needs a toothbrush & floss! :D I don't mind the puppy breath that smells like skunk but this is like rotten fish. haha |
Teething does that, the mixture of blood, saliva, and rotting food caught in the crevices is not pleasant. But since you mention a fishy smell, you might want to make sure, it's not coming from the opposite end, the anal glands. :D I think introducing them to the toothbrush early is important, even if they lose their first teeth. |

He's only 13 weeks...he's chewing...how soon will he start losing the baby teeth? I can't remember. |
If it's really really bad there could be infection or something wrong going on in his gum or throat or body perhaps? You might ask the vet what he thinks if you haven't already. |

If I take him to the vet, he's very practical, he'll ask if his poop and peeing is normal, if he's eating and drinking, acting lethargic, playing and sleeping or crying or acting hurt and I'll have to say he's fine and he'll tell me not to worry about it. He just saw him yesterday, in fact, looked in his mouth and said he had a good bite. I'm sure Pooky's fine. I just looked in his mouth, the teeth are set so nothing can get caught between them...look clean, no stains. Gums aren't swollen. The only thing the vet was concerned about was his vaccinations, which we'll be going in next week for that. |
