Greek Yogurt question?
 
How does everyone feel about adding Greek yogurt to your yorkies diet? I started feeding Teeka, yogurt since she had some yeast issues. I was wondering what the difference is between Greek and regular yogurt. Is Greek healthier? I know there is more protein in the Greek yogurt. Any input would be awesome!

I guess it depends on specific dietary needs? Overall it looks like Greek is the way to go. I know Sam absolutely loves it. I'm saving it for his high value grooming treat.

Awesome and informative information! I started her on greek yogurt a few days ago and was hoping it is a healthy way to go. I love that it is lower in sugar and higher in protein! Thank you!

I also like making yogurt drops for a treat! I just line a pan w/parchment paper and put my yogurt in a baggie; cut the tip off and drop small dots and then freeze. My dogs love this wholesome treat! :) Me, too!

Great idea! I was going to buy some ice cube trays this afternoon. No need for that now!

I give my boys Greek yogurt every day as a treat.

If Teeka continues to have yeast problems, I would consider using a probiotic supplement. I've read that the supplement can work better than yogurt.

Can a probiotic help with a recurring ear infection? Do you sell one, Kristin? Luma gets ear infections often and they give us this disgusting ointment to rub in her ear which makes her hair SO GREASY :( also is there a really good earwash for ear infection prone dogs?

It might help with ear infections. I would definitely try. The one I sell is more of a digestive supplement, so I would just go for the straight probiotic supplement. I can't recall what the popular brand here is on YT. Start a thread and ask.

An greasy ointment in the ear sounds yucky! I would use a cleaner that has a drying agent in it to eliminate moisture in the ear, which can lead to the overgrowth of yeast/bacteria. Use it after baths too. I sell All Systems Ear So Fresh, and another good one (that I don't sell) is VetSolutions.

You can do a YT search for probiotics. Ann Wylie's Mom has made several posts about probiotics. She gives her "pups' a probiotic.

I will look into the probiotics and Vet Solutions ears Cleansing Solution. I can get it here at a local Animal Health Store! Thank You for the suggestion.
