Gross Question This is kind of related to another post, but my question is, does anyone know the best way to clean off dried-up poop from around your Yorkie's tush area? I have tried gently cleaning it with a baby wipe, but today, it wouldn't come off. I tried pulling gently, but I am sure that it hurt my Frankie a bit. Anyone have any tips? Does this happen to you? |
Had this problem too When I first got the boys I had this problem. Fill a small tub with warm water, sit the pup in it to loosen the stool, use old soft rag to wipe and loosen the hair and waste. Rinse and dry, I would recommend buying a small clipper/shaver. I bought a battery operated one from Pet Edge for under $10 in order to keep both ears and anal area trimmed clean. This is a small easily handled slim clipper that even I can handle. Good luck |
:) I have read that this is common in Yorkies ... even has a name ... "pancake" ... yuk!! Toto used to get it all the time when she was smaller. Seemed like when she pooped she would sit flat on the pad!! Like milliecorrales said ... wash that little butt and clip the hair short!! Toto always looked soooo embarrassed!! ;) |
^^Aww! :) Glad to know I'm not the only one. Thank you both for the advice. I'm going to try your tips this evening. |
Pancake....???? I thought it was called "clingers".....or the really gross type...the "runny clingers"!!!!!!!! |
I've heard them called 'will nots' because they will not come off... :-)) anyway, try using a little shampoo or conditioner on the hair... makes it slick and easier to pull off.. |
