probem with my dorkie my poor little one jewell is having an ongoing problem with her privates. i have already had her at the vets once for it and it seemed to go away for a few weeks but now it keeps coming back. she gets all crusty and raw there and i keep cleaning her up after she goes out to the bathroom but it only goes away for a few days or a week then it comes right back. i put the medicine the vet gave me on her for about a week and it goes away then comes back again. i think she may have some kind of viris or something that just stays in here system. has anyone else had this kind of problem? most of the time it does not seem to bother her, but once in awhile she does cry when she urinates. |

This is something you should tell the vet, I agree with TxVicki, he may have to do a culture to see what causing it, poor little thing, I'll bet she's miserable. I would not try home treatments; it can just mask the problem. She may need to take oral as well as topical medication. |
i agree witht the others. good luck i hope you find out what is bothering jewell. love her name. |
I agree with everyone above. Talk to the vet. Get a culture done |
thank you all of you for the help, yes she has been spayed and the doctor did urine and blood work but they came out negative, this was actually the second doctor that i had brought her to. this vet gave me some neo-predef powder to put on her when it flares up. but as i said it does go away for a while then comes back. i guess the only solution is to go back and ask for more tests. it doesn't seem to bother very often but it sure looks like it must be sore to me. i don't do any home remedies, just the stuff the doctor gave her. i do wipe her after she goes out for her potty times but that is either with warm clothes or wet wipe things that don't have any type soap or anything in them. it seems to keep it away. |
