Yorkie Poodle Seizure/Minor Stroke? Hello, We have a peculiar little black Yorkie/poodle. On multiple occasions she raises her front leg up to her face and begins to act as if she is disoriented. When she does it, she jumps down off the couch and runs around stumbling and running into stuff and pees. Her body doesn't contort but it shows symptoms of muscle twitching. She acts normal an hour or so later and is just fine. Is anyone out there aware of what this problem could be?? We haven't taken her to the vet because of financial issues and are hoping someone could supply us with an answer before we consider investing. Thanks you in advance |

Please take her to a vet. Something is definitely wrong with your baby! Praying she gets the help she needs soon and is all better. |

This pup NEEDS a Neurologist not a regular vet. There are many things that can cause these symptoms & all are serious & need prompt attention. Also a FULL blood work up would be a good idea, specifically checking her liver. |

Hello and welcome. I am sorry this is happening to her but i would take her ASAP |

I would also agree with everyone to take your baby to the vet. I am not a vet nor I am I an expert on canine seizures in any way. So in no way can I or anyone on the internet give you any kind of medical advice that you should use (aside from the advice to go to an actual vet!), but it sounds like a seizure to me. Whether or not it is a seizure though, this sounds like a serious medical condition that should be seen by a vet ASAP. I do own a dog that has seizures. I can't remember when Clyde originally started having seizures, but he is now three years old. At first, when Clyde would have a seizure he would become disoriented, his legs would tense up close to his face, he would stumble around, and he would urinate everywhere. We did not immediately seek out vet help for financial reasons. That was the worst choice that I ever made for the overall well being of Clyde's health both mentally and physically. As time passed his seizures have gotten worse. He now convulses, vomits, urinates, releases his bowels, and becomes disoriented when he is having an "episode". Don't worry everyone, I am currently taking Clyde to the vet regularly. He was currently put on anti-seizure medication. I picked up an extra job on the side of college to save up money to take him to a neurologist, but for now my vet is doing everything in their power to prevent seizures while I save up for a specialist. If your dog sounds like she is experiencing any of the symptoms that Clyde is experiencing feel free to send me a private message so I can discuss things with you in more detail if you would like about costs to expect at the vet and such. I'm really sorry about the issues your dog is experiencing. I really hope that she gets better! =( |

Just checking in to see how the vet went. I hope he figured what is going on with her |
