Question on sensitive tummies..
 

What would be the best dog food for a Yorkie with a sensitive stomach? My dog has always eaten Lamb and Rice semi-moist packets..generic brand from the market. The more I read here, the more I realize it can't be all that nutricious or good for him. A while back he had a bout with Pancreatitis and then a month or so ago we had the scare of him eating quite a large amount of chocolate..since that fiasco he does this little reflux thing off and on. He has really become quite the Goat Boy.. will eat anything that looks inviting or even shiny for that matter. Reading up on the whole after affects on the chocolate I found that it can really mess up the digestion system. Are there special dog foods for baby's with tender tummies? Where can I find these? When he had the Pancreatitis the vet gave him a few cans of the ID dog food and he loved it. Can he live on this stuff or is it just a temp thing. Gizmo was a gift and no nothing about his breeder or his life before us. Growing up I never had a dog that was bought, just mix breeds to love.. always thought dog food was dog food. I'm learning now. He is around 3 or 4 and weighs 12 pounds. He eats normally and his energy is fine. Just wondering what food would be best for him. Any ideas would be appreciated. :)

I am no expert, but Jeter has done well on the Nutro Puppy for sensitive stomachs. I was told that when I was ready to switch him to adult food that the smart choice for him would be ProPlan for sensitive stomachs. Jeter has done well so far with the advice. I do not know anything about the ProPlan except that it was recommended to us. Good Luck.

My girl was a sensitive Tummy after chewing on horse hoof and dinning on horse poop. She my first Yorkie after dealing with Border collies that can eat anything.
My girl is on a Gastor food right from the vet so it is very easy on her tummy.
I have just his year added a High quality lamb and rice kibble a canadain brand.
Check the side of your package of food a check the ingredients.
Sometimes it what is in the dog food that causes the problem.
Lamb is high in fat so look into maybe venison (deer) or Salmon food as the fat in lamb could contribute to Pancreatitis.

Thank both of you for responding to me. I found the Nutro for adult dogs with sensitive stomachs today at Petsmart. Giz ate some a while ago a have yet to hear those noises coming from his little belly. Sometimes it takes a little longer for the light to come on for some, but at least he has the good stuff now. ;)

Loki had tummy issues forever until we switched him to Canidae. We're definately fans of that! And they send out free samples if you email or call them!
