Switching to adult food Since Joel is 1 i'm going to get him adult food after he finishes the puppy food. He eats Blue Buffalo grain free, so i'm wondering if I should get the adult kind or small breed adult because the small breed adult only has chicken and the adult one has other flavors I want him to have. So is it important for him to have small breed or is the adult one fine? |
if joel is not sensitive to anything then i think either formula would be fine.. |
He's not sensitive to anything as far as I know, the only difference I saw is the adult food says to feed once a day and the small breed says twice, I can't imagine him eating only once. |

personally i really dont pay much attention to the feeding guidelines on the bags. |
I think that maybe the small breed formula will have smaller, flatter pieces so I'd go for that formula if Joel has trouble with regular sized kibble. Otherwise, I'd rotate with the regular adult varieties! I also know that the small breed formulas of some brands (like Fromm and Earthborn) have slightly higher protein/fat content and more calories. I've never fed small breed kibble because Toki really enjoys crunching the bigger pieces and I kinda feel like small kibbles could be a choking hazard with the way she inhales food. But either formula would be fine :) |
I am just now beginning to transition Teeka gradually to Grain-Free Blue puppy formula. She has been on RC since I brought her home as a recommendation from the breeder. I am going for a higher quality, grain free food. Since she is tiny, I will be keeping her on the small kibble. That is my preference for all my dogs. |
Thanks all:) Quote:
So I think I'll go with the adult one.:) And yay, theres a 5$ off and food coupon on the site |
