Just out of curiosity, what makes you think it's not related to the food? It seems that most of the time it is the food. |
Hows Luma doing? |
Allergies Poor Luma. Hope she is getting better. I had the same problem with my little boy for ages. Been there done that with changing all in sight and many vet visits. He was just scratching around his eyes, nowhere else, and causing blepharitis (spelling??). Now I am applying an ointment from the vet that is clearing up the damage and scabs, and keeping the hard cone on him. Although the lesions are much better, he still tries to scratch with no cone. With a soft cone he runs into a corner and rubs his eyes on the carpet as he can't get at them with his paws. His eyes look very clear now with the ointment, rather than goopy as before. I wonder if he has just got into the habit of scratching as he has had the problem for so long, even though he seems cured??? I say that as when he is on my bed and semi sleepy, with no cone, he is fine. But left to his own devices he occasionally scratches. I do hate having the cone on him, but do not want to damage his eyes. I believe that it is environmental and from outside or inside the home?? Someone said it may be the carpet? I do vacuum with a hepa filter so it is clean. It is a very big issue and I really do not know what to do if it continues. |
How is Luma doing on the Canine Caviar?!?! |
She's doing well. Scabs are healed and completely gone, and she hasn't scratched for a few days. I haven't started her on the CC. I have it but am finishing off her old food bc her vet said not to mess with her diet until she's done with her steroid and AB round |
Allergies WTG Luma!! Hope she keeps well when over all the meds. |
Yeah... I could see how that may be a little much all a once.... What formula did you get?! Riley ate the grain free wild ocean for about three months has now been eating the grain free open sky for about a month. Never looked better!! Keep me posted. |
I can't believe I missed this... I'm glad lumas feeling a little better... If you need anything please let me know :) |
My 17 week old pup had a cold when I got him from breeder he was on antibiotics and for over 6 weeks per (breeder vet) and my vet. Well to many weeks on antibiotics weekend his natural flora in his gut and he got whole body yeast infection and dr wanted to prescribe antibiotics again I told her NO that's the reason he got yeast infection from antibiotics he lost all hair on tail, ears and all 4 legs and paws (he was completely bald). Did research and found yeast feeds on carbs (grains & sugar) I eliminated all carbs and sugar and stopped using oatmeal bath like vet suggested (carb) it was just feeding his yeast infection one week later he is eating raw venison, unpasteurized goats milk 1x daily along with probiotic supplement 1x daily and coconut oil 1/4 tsp daily his hair has begun to grow back where you can't even see skin anymore!!! I am so happy and he has so much energy its incredible that vet is amazed with his energy level. Vet was totally skeptical about my natural holistic raw diet for him and now she is doing research on it:) |
