Whining the night of neuter Well today was Wallee's big day. He was neutered today and had one tooth pulled. He has been home for a few hours and eaten. When he is not resting (which has been tough to accomplish) he is whining. Anyone else experience this and how to quieten? |
Poor wally. did they give him pain meds to come home ?if not I would call and ask for some. he is probally in pain. hope he is feeling better. hugs to you and wally. Anne/Luci:animal-pa |
Did he have any pain meds? Having all that done to them hurts. If they dr didn't give them call for some. It will help him settle. Hope he feels better |
Awwee. My Max was the same way. He stared at me like, "fix it Mommy!". Pain meds and time will help. The first day was the worst and I think it was mostly because of the anesthesia. Max wanted for me to feed him out of my hand (of course I did it) and it helped to have a Bully Stick to keep his mind off of feeling weird. I hope Wallee feels better soon. Sending hugs and lots of love to Wallee :) |
They often have a low whine that is due to the effects of the anesthesia. |
Poor Wallee:( He'll be feeling better soon:) My Joel just got nuetered on monday, the first day he was whiney, sad and tired, and the second day he was better but still blah feeling, and the third day he was way better and playing with toys and now today he's already running around and totaly back to normal. Hope your boy has a fast recovery:D |
Today he is a little better. The vet did give me pain meds for him and I gave him them this moring as instructed. He actually slept through the night last night which was a blessing. I am a little angry at the vet today though as he has a molar that also did not fall out. The vet who examined him said he would pull that one out as well as it was "hanging by a thread" and also had a lot of plaque. (his mouth is smelly from it). Well, seems that another vet did the surgery and didn't pull that tooth. My concern is that if this tooth doesn't fall out and it is already covered in plaque that it will spread to his permanent adult teeth. |
