Zentonil Plus??? My Roxi was diagnosed with MVD a little over a year ago. She goes in every 6 months for her liver workup. When we first discovered she had a problem with her liver (bloodwork done before her spay) her # was 34 which wasn't too bad. She had a liver biopsy performed during her spay and it was determined at that time that she had mild MVD. A year ago the # was 87 and then 6 months ago is was over 100, so we took everything away from her but the canned l/d and the Royal Canin Hepatic hard food. Yesterday I took her in for her 6 month checkup and her # was back down to 87. Her vet and I decided to try her on the supplement Zentonil Plus and then have her come back in 2 months to do another liver workup on her. Has anyone else used the Zentonil? And if so, what was your experience with it? Would be very interested in hearing from anyone who has used the Zentonil. Thanks :) |
No sorry have not. Bumping for you |
Thank you:) |
I have not heard of that either. They suspect Cruz to have a mild case of MVD as well. We were going to try the diet first before adding in meds, to see if he could go without them. I know if we have to start the meds they talked about giving him Lactutose & neomycin. |
Roxi's vet did mention the Lactulose, but because of Roxi's small size (3 lbs) we decided the Zentonil was better. The pill can easily be split...she take 1/2 pill daily. It says on the bottle that it's for cats and small dogs. It contains SAMe. I gave her her first pill today. I sure hope she tolerates it well and that 2 months from now we see some improvements in her numbers. On a side note, I feel like such a bad mom :(. TODAY IS HER BIRTHDAY!!! She is 2 yrs old today. I knew today was a special day, but I couldn't remember why. Then I open up my email and there is a birthday card for Roxi from her vet. I'll have to make it up to her tonight when I get off work :cake2: |
