Cost of spaying and teeth extraction? I've had my yorkie since she was 8 weeks old, and she's now 4.5yrs old. She isn't spayed yet but I plan on getting her spayed next month when I get paid. I wish I didn't have to wait that long but I can't expect them to work on her for free. I also want to get her teeth cleaned, and I noticed 3 of her top front teeth are loose, and 2 of her bottom teeth are loose, so she also needs teeth extraction. I feel really bad and that I'm an awful owner. Could I do both procedures at the same time? I have a feeling it's going to be really expensive because when I called about getting my rabbit fixed it was going to cost $480, so I can only imagine how much it will cost to have my dog spayed/dental work done. Any ideas? And is there anything I can do in the meantime until I get paid? :( |
I got my puppies teeth pulled when she was about a year because she had extra teeth that just wouldn't come out. When the did that the also cleaned her teeth and wanted to spay her while she was under rather than putting her under twice. So you can get them both done at the same time. Mine cost about 200 or 300 without spaying. But they gave me meds to ease the pain and prevent infection. |
Spay plus Dental In my area, Florida, most vets are around $100 for each Spay and Dental ($200), and if done together you save about $25.00. I just had one done and the total with one extraction was $190.00 + $10 for pain medication after surgery. She is 4 years old and tolerated the procedure well.:thumbup: |
Teeth Since it is very very common for Yorkshire Terriers to have retained puppy teeth, it is recommended that they have their first dental done at about 8 months when all the teeth are in, but before crowding, bite issues and tartar build up can really start. I have all mine done at that time, and all but one of mine has had deciduous teeth (extras).:animal36 The cost on this routine, usually runs about $90 for the anesthesia, cleaning and $10-$20 a tooth pulled plus $15 for pain meds and another $10 if they need an antibiotic :) Hope this helps. Other areas are much more expensive I understand but Central Florida is a bit cheaper. |
Depends on the area. I know NY is expensive. |
