what kind of kibble? so i am having the hardest time finding a GOOD kibble i can stick with... most recently i have gotten my furr babes merrick, puppy, and they seem to be doing fine on it... but iwas reading something 'bad' about them, i cant remember what now... i was thinking i would use THK again but only as a topper for now since i think that is all i can afford at the moment... but id really love to find a good kibble i can be confident about... i like reading actualy fruits and veggies in the ingredient listing, not just meat and then lists of vitamins, also i dont want any kind of meat meal being the '1st' ingredient... before making sure there was a 'small breed' version of the adult kind seemed like a big deal to me (even though now i only have 2 under 1 year) now it doesnt because my husband wants to get a pup, and it will more likely be a lab mix, and id like them all to eat the same thing (ofcourse if one has issues i will adjust accordingly but untill i have an issue like that im not guna worry about it) anyways, do any of u have a kibble they feel comfortable feeding ur fur babies??? i find somehting i think i like then BAM ...horrible review and it gets me double thinking it :( also my local feed store has a limited option so the merrick seemed like a good thing since they had it, plus i could order it from wag.com...i like being able to order from there... :) |
JEEZ!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek: the more i read, the more i want to just make everything for my babes from scratch!!!!! so disappointing!! |
One thing to keep in mind is that just about all pet foods have recalls and go through some kind of problem but its about how they handle it that really counts. Home cooking is really a great option just make sure you are giving them a supplement if you go that way. Fromm is a really good dog food maybe you should try that one? I have Callie on Wellness Core Small breed and am very happy with it right now. |

Wild Ocean since August 2nd And I couldn't be happier with the results!! I have Tried several different brands of dog food in the past two years and I feel like I have finally found the food for him... I just hope they don't go changing the formula now... |
I really like Fromm. My favorite dog food company by far. It took us a bit though to find the correct formulas for Jackson -- I don't think beef goes as well with him, as his stool was softer. He also got a bit of gas on the duck & potato. So we'll just skip those formulas and do the others. He is currently on a bag of Chicken a la Veg, and before a bag of Game Bird, doing well on both and he LOVES them! |
We are using Horizon foods right now and the dogs do well on them. We have used both Horizon Legacy and Horizon Pulsar. We like the Legacy the best though. Horizon is a smaller company in Canada that has its own manufacturing facility and uses ingredients sourced locally to them. The guys at the pet food store I go to like Horizon foods best, then their 2nd choice is Fromm. Since Horizon is a smaller company, their foods can be a little hard to find. You can check to see if anyone in your area carries it if interested. |

Yes, it is grain free, and low glycemic too. |
I would look into a grain free food like Fromm or Acana. Good luck! I know how hard it is to find a good food that agrees with your pup :) |
