Teeth problems.. Chewie is now almost 9 months old and still hasnt lost his baby teeth; unfortunately his adult teeth are coming in as well. It looks as though his mouth is becoming crowded and I'm worried this could become a big issue. Is this common among yorkies? |
It is pretty common. I would just get his baby teeth extracted when you get his neuter done. |
It happened to my little Maya and she had her baby teeth removed when she was spayed. Good luck with little chewie. |
Its pretty common. Most people have the vet remove the baby teeth that haven't fallen out when they get them neutered. |
Yes that was pretty common to get baby teeth removed, BUT has anyon else had experience that as an adult their little mouths are so crowded and she had 2 teeth in the front that were loose and one on the bottom so they removed them. My vet said that as the breed as been shrunk down not all things shrink such as teeth and there is only so much space. This happened last week, now that she has the space will others spread out? And is this the invitation to further teeth issues? My precious girl is almost 3 paws old this coming January! She is 3#5oz and I want to be keeping her healthy and happy for many years to come!!! |
I have heard that Yorkies are really predisposed to teeth and mouth problems. Something to do with they have such small mouths, almost too small for teeth, and they get rotton quite easily. Would it cost much to get them just taken out, as opposed to doing while he is being neutered? We haven't decided yet about neutering. |
I would talk to your vet about pricing... It all depends on the area. Can I ask why you are undecided about neutering? |
