Praying for your precious baby:hands: |

I would definitely get a second opinion before I let anyone cut into my baby. I would not do what a fill in vet says. Mickey was limping 2 weeks ago. My vet was out. Fill in vet said give him baby asprin. Next day when my vet was back in she called me and said "What's going on with my buddy?". She wanted to see him asap. She gave him a pain killer and anti-inflamitory . Restricted playing with Max. and walks. He is fine now. It was only a pulled muscle. |

DH and I are taking him in at 6pm tonight to see my Vet Dr Sandu. Hopefully we get better news!! I worked with Dr Sandu a long long time ago, I know what kind of person and Vet he is. I know how he is in the treatment room and I know first hand how he treats pets back there. He is very smart and some what "old school" which is ok, he does have all the newest technology in his office which is great! I have always trusted him when I worked with him and I trust him with my baby.. The fill in Dr, Dr Sing- I am not too sure about. I know Dr Sandu would never have someone work under his name that he didn't personally approve of, but as you said it is a different bond Vets have with their clients than a fill in has... That is for sure. :D |
Thank you guys for the thoughts and prayers. Today we find out what our Vet thinks about his bump. Peanut means everything thing to me- It is unbelievable what close bond we have. I love with with all my heart and more- I just want him to be ok.. |
hi.. just reading this.. I am sending prayers that it is one of the "simplier" reasons!! Please keep us posted |
:hands::hands::hands::hands: :hands:Peanut:hands: :hands::hands::hands::hands: Sending prayers it is something simple. |
** update** Well looks like we are going to do surgery. My Vet says it could be a hernia and it could be a tumor, he won’t know until he takes it out- He said if it is a hernia then he can fix it- Whatever it is he wants it out. He told me where the bump is located it is not a good a idea to leave it there- Peanut is so small it just isn't a good idea. If it does get bigger, we can run into bigger problems, since the bump is located tight by his Ween area... Peanut is also due for a dental so he wants to get that taken care of too- He gave me a couple breaks on the price of the surgery.. it is $360, which includes growth removal and dental, e collar.. meds to go home.. They fully monitor them when they are under, I have full trust in my Vet and I know he only wants what is best for Peanut- My Vet knows how much Peanut means to me and I know he wants to do what is best! I know if it was something he thought didn’t need to come out, he would tell me--- However like Cathy (107Barney) says “ Why leave something like that in their body” :D I was going to wait on the dental.. I know the surgery is more important, however Peanut will need a dental by the end of the year so I might as well do it together- I don’t want to have to put him under 2 times within a couple months! I talked to DH, he agrees with Dr Sandu and wants to go along with the surgery. We are going to schedule it for next month… I want to do the surgery on a Friday and take the day off so I can be with him for 3 days.. I hope and pray it is something simple like a hernia… I really pray it isn’t a tumor- Dh is set on knowing it isn’t a tumor- so I have to start thinking that way!! Thanks for the prayers, I guess I’m going to still need them!! |
I'm glad that you are having the "thing" removed. Don't be scared if it is a tumor - benign is always good. Just keep positive thoughts and we all will say prayers for little Peanut. |
and one more thing - $360 is a fantastic price. It costs me that much for dental. |

i will be praying for peanut that it is nothing serious. stay strong momma your doing all you can to ensure your boy is taken care of! also even if a tumor it can be benign so there is still lots of positive hope in either direction. i pray for the best!! |
I am so sorry to hear about Peanut's mass. I am glad he is going to get it fixed and hopefully it is nothing but a hernia. I know you're scared. Prayers for Peanut are already being said. We are with you and will help get your through it. I'll bet Peanut will sail through this surgery with no problems and Mommie will be a wreck. |
I am glad to hear you are going to have it taken out. At least then you will get some answers... Let us know when Peanut is going to go in. |
praying all turns out well. |
Thanks guys... hearing some of the stories from Yt'ers that have had surgeries like Peanut's make me feel much better- Peanut just means the world to me and we all know the Mommies are the ones that stress more than the doggies!! :p I will let you all know when we plan on doing the surgery, I know I will be a basket case and I will def need some support!! |
I'm just seeing this thread. Had no idea Peanut was having another issue. So sorry you and he are having to go through this. I think your doing the right thing. You have confidence in your vet and not knowing for sure what it is would probably drive you up the wall. Since it is a few weeks off maybe you could get the little guy one of those soft E collars so he doesn't have to suffer with one of those plastic things. Someone here on YT makes and sells them really reasonably. |
It is Mom To Hot Rod that makes the collars. Here is a link to her website. The Kiss-E Collar |
Awww poor peanut, I'm glad he will have his thingamajig removed. Then you'll know for sure what it was and it will be living in a bottle instead of in Peanut. The price tag looks like a deal to me and I'm glad you trust the vet. I have the soft e collars and like them for when the dogs have a hot spot or something minor. When I had Barney's two ortho surgeries, he had to wear the hard e collar because he got at his wounds and started to remove sutures so you have to watch them. We will be praying for Peanut. |
Still thinking about Peanut!!! He's such an awesome little dude and has such a great mom. You two are great together. I don't blame you one bit, I'd just take it out too - less worry! I'll be thinking of the little man. |
I would not do any surgery until I was trusting a vet and what he would do. Get another opinion before surgery. That is a big step for such a small dog. I pray it is a cyst or something easy to remove. Be aggressive and assertive and make sure the vet you get you can trust. Sandy |

Duh! |
Yeah, Bo's Kiss-E Collars are great! Here's her site:The Kiss-E Collar I also use the kiss-e collar when I'm grooming my fur butts. Esp when I'm trimming their nails, it keeps them from seeing the torture device & trying to attack it. Mimi hates the scissors, so it keeps her from seeing it & trying to bite it. loll I hope all the best for Peanut. You're such a good mommy! |
Just saw this and want to add my prayers for sweet Peanut. I know how very hard it is to make a choice for the good of our babies and I'm so glad you are having the thing removed. Zhoie & I send many hugs to Peanut. |
Thinking about you and Peanut. Sending prayers and positive thoughts! |
Prayers for you and sweet Peanut. |
Thank you guys... He is hanging in there- Def getting more spoiled :p |
