Tomatoes?? Are they bad for them or not? I've heard both ways. My girls seem to enjoy picking them fresh from the garden and having a little snack when I'm not looking. I just caught Moo enjoying a vine of 3 or 4 small ones when I went out to get them. |

Ah, darned hubbies, mine does things like that as well:laugh: Tomatoes aren't really "bad" for them, but they are pretty acidic and may cause stomach upset. Lucky babies, they get fresh homegrown ones:D!!! |
We put a fence around our garden because I heard the plant and leaves are toxic and bad for them. |

Their sister Molly helps herself to my sister's garden all the time. Dawn will plant lettuce and if they don't watch Molly she will skip through the garden and nip the lettuce buds off as soon as they come up...and she can't seem to keep the pole beans in the basket with Molly around! They came in one night and smelled of fresh onions...they had just been walking through the green onion patch though...but they sure stunk right before bedtime! :tongue4: |

Definately fence your garden. My green beans grew over the fencing and Princess helped herself by pulling a 4' vine across the yard. I have to really watch the apple trees here toi while the apples are great Princess will eat the entire thing toxic seeds and all! I tried so cheapo deer fencing last year...bad idea its a super fun toy between snacks and dogs... |

Talk about little stinkers, try having your sweet baby come in after rolling in alpaca dung or goose poop! It is bath time for sure, then! :D |

There are several sources that state that tomatoes can be harmful to your dog. Here is one article I read lately as we have had a lot of fresh veggies around of late and I was checking to make sure. Fruits & Vegetables That Dogs Should Not Eat | eHow.com I know there are varying opinions about what is and is not harmful to you dog but I would still be very careful. Onions can cause damage to red blood cells and cause anemia so any type of onion consumption should be limited, including onion powder or dehydrated onion that may be used in preparing your foods. |
