China stiff-arms FDA on jerky pet treat testing, reports show Still no answers on why jerky treats from China are killing our pets: China stiff-arms FDA on jerky pet treat testing, reports show - Vitals Read your labels! |
I think we ALL need to BOYCOTT anything, not just pet foods but ALL products made in China. They want to strong arm the FDA, we the People need to strong arm CHINA. Bring our jobs back & employ our own & see how they like that. Give em a taste of their own medicine ;) |

:thumbup::thumbup: The only way we're going to eliminate all the crap that comes here from China is if we, the consumers, stop buying it! Spread the word!!! |
Thanks added to my Jerky Treat Thread |
And why am I not surprised. :(. |
Is this product listed as being made in China? I know the large print on the label makes it look like an American made product. There are still so many people who are unaware that there is even a problem with these jerky products. They are stacked all over discount department stores, drug stores, and pet stores. I am actually amazed that the FDA is involved at all in looking into the item. There are still many companies that add China made fillers to their products but do not list where the fillers came from. It's a sad situation when the majority of Americans are totally unaware of what they are feeding their pets. Food and treats that sit on store shelves are such junk for the most part. |

Just say no to China!! Have you checked labels in Walmart, petco, petsmart?? I'm guessing 99% of their products come from China. I read the labels on everything!! I'm shocked and how many products come from there. I am finding it harder and harder to find things made here. I remember when Walmart prized itself on only using American made products. So much for that!! Dollar Stores are probably 100% made in China. I just won't shop in those stores anymore. There is a bill in Congress that will remove the country of origin too!! |

I find plenty of Usa,Canadian made anywhere but China made stuff. All kinds of food not made in China. I don't go to the dollar store because most of the stuff is crap anyways. My choice. But I have been to the dollar store not everything is China. Sticky notes are Usa made :). Just need to know what you buy. Yes you can't get away from buy everything from China. But at least the food you buy can be made elsewhere. I've been doing it for years no problem. |

I don't shop at Walmart, Petco or Petsmart so I wouldn't know... |
"There is a bill in Congress that will remove the country of origin too!! " Seriously? So even if we start to buy USA made products, we won't be able to find them because the country of orgin will be removed? I need to make a call to my congressman and ask him to not allow this. I don't want to buy from China- bad paint used on human baby products, bad doggie treats...they're slowly trying to kill us! *gets on soap box* We need to stand up for us, start a "buy USA" campaign and do that...help the USA and support the USA by purchasing USA products from USA based companies...Not the companies that left us in the dirt for cheap labor, to name 1 reason companies gave for moving to another country. I do my best to buy USA based products. When I have to contact them by phone due to a problem I'm having, I have someone answering that barely understands english. :( This really frustrates me!!! *hops off soap box so someone else can jump on* |
yes, the WTO is against the COOL (Country of Origin Labeling). Here's just one article about it but there are others: WTO rules against U.S. country-of-origin label - All We Can Eat - The Washington Post I hope this never goes through or will will not know where anything is coming from! |

They're evil, I'm sorry more people don't see the WTO for what it is. Fair trade world wide is slowly making strides despite their billions trying to crush it. |
Let me say one thing about Walmart. Most people say they don't treat their employees well. From my view point they treat treat their employees better than most department and grocery stores as well as other employers. I saw under employed people at my work place daily. The Walmart employees were the only ones with health insurance. Many people work daily but their employers make sure they work just under the amount of hours it takes to get benefits. These people want to work for a living and because they do they end up unable to provide for themselves much less their families. If someone gets sick it can cost a couple of hundred dollars just to treat an ear infection. Walmart employees are about the only department store or grocery store employees that have health insurance. Other stores only give insurance to managers and department heads. Walmart has refused unions into their business and this has incited a lot of untrue propaganda about the chain. People who are low income have to shop at places like Walmart and I don't fault them for that. I do fault a government that has sold out it's people to another country so they have a limitless credit line to borrow money they can burn and then send the bill to what is left of the working class. By the way....sticky notes......no forests in China to make paper. |
